AHK-Cu
A copper tripeptide studied in collagen-synthesis and skin wound-healing research.
AHK-Cu is a tripeptide bound to a divalent copper ion, made of the amino-acid sequence alanine, histidine and lysine (Ala-His-Lys-Cu). It was designed primarily to target hair follicles and dermal papilla cells, with a high specific affinity for scalp tissue that exceeds that of general copper peptides. AHK-Cu stimulates proliferation of hair-follicle cells, inhibits programmed cell death and suppresses signalling of Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1), a protein linked to hormonal hair loss. It also promotes the formation of micro-vessels that nourish the roots and stimulates collagen and elastin production in the scalp.
The cellular engineer dedicated to rescuing hair follicles and stimulating their growth
If GHK-Cu is the all-round choice for renewing skin, AHK-Cu is the engineered specialist aimed at penetrating hair roots and halting the pathways of hereditary hair loss.
Classification: Hair-restoration peptides, scalp health and dermal-papilla activation (Hair Restoration / Follicle Regeneration Peptide).
Structurally, it is the tripeptide alanine-histidine-lysine chelated with a divalent copper ion — a sequence that gives it a unique biological affinity for dermal-papilla receptors at the base of the hair follicle.
Picture exhausted hair follicles as trees drying out because their blood supply has been cut and chemical signals are forcing them to drop their leaves and enter a dormant, shrinking phase.
How it works
AHK-Cu penetrates the outer layers of the scalp to reach dermal-papilla cells directly. There it suppresses expression of DKK-1 (the main driver of follicle death under the influence of dihydrotestosterone) while stimulating vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) to open new micro-vascular networks that pump oxygen and nutrients into the roots. It also activates collagen-synthesis pathways to support the structural integrity of the skin around the follicle, prolonging the active growth phase (anagen) and shortening the shedding phase (telogen).
In dermatological studies and research, it has shown a notable ability to increase the density and thickness of hair fibres and to counter the progressive shrinkage of follicles in models of androgenetic alopecia.
Restoring hair density does not require blocking hormones throughout the body — it means protecting the follicle and giving it a cellular environment in which it can flourish again.
Reviving hair follicles from the roots. AHK-Cu is a biological formula designed specifically to target the causes of hair loss and follicle thinning. It belongs to the class of advanced scalp-care peptides for restoring hair vitality. Its structure combines precise amino acids with active copper to penetrate directly into the dermal-papilla cells at the base of the hair. Its mechanism halts the cellular signals that lead to follicle death and shrinkage while stimulating fine capillaries that pump nutrients and oxygen to the roots — prolonging the active growth phase and increasing hair thickness and strength. Experts study it as a promising topical solution for increasing scalp density and resisting hereditary hair loss without causing general hormonal disruption — because strong hair only needs biological signals that reopen the pathways of life at its roots.
